When filming... (mise en scene)
In the location (being my dad’s house) there where a few
things we had to get rid of a few things so that it looked like a single woman
lived there. For example, there were a few family pictures in the main room we
were shooting in that (i insisted) we thought would be a good idea to get rid
of. We did this so that they could not be seen whilst we were filming. This added
to the idea that she lived alone and was a pretty independent woman. Apart from
these few alternations it was just an average house, nothing had to be added. We
didn’t want it to be too feminine because it wouldn’t match the character of
the woman.
