Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie would be a great actor to play Janet Monroe in out film
because she is known as a woman who is able to do her own stunts and act tough.
She would be perfect for our role. As she is also seen as attractive by the
majority of men then that would make them want to see the film.
Noomi Rapace
Noomi Rapace is probaly better known for her role in the first adaptation of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'. I thought she would be a good actor to play our agent simply for her role in this film. In the film she is able to beat up pretty much anyone and fears nothing. Also, in this film, she plays a hacker that's not really of the norm'. She doesnt do things conventially and does it her own way. i dont think she has a job either.
PRELIMINARY EXERCISE: Continuity editing task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. It will demonstrate match on action, shat reverse shot and the 180 degree rule. MAIN TASK: the main task will be the titles and the opening of a new fiction film of two minutes.

When filming... (mise en scene)
In the location (being my dad’s house) there where a few
things we had to get rid of a few things so that it looked like a single woman
lived there. For example, there were a few family pictures in the main room we
were shooting in that (i insisted) we thought would be a good idea to get rid
of. We did this so that they could not be seen whilst we were filming. This added
to the idea that she lived alone and was a pretty independent woman. Apart from
these few alternations it was just an average house, nothing had to be added. We
didn’t want it to be too feminine because it wouldn’t match the character of
the woman.

EVALUATION:What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Working Title Warner Brothers
The kind of company we would expect to produce our type of film would be Warmer Brothers or Working Title. Originally i would of thought Working Title would be good because it is not a very big, well know production company and that would mean a lower budget. Looking at some of the films Working Title have produced - such as 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Shaun of the Dead' - relates to the type of film we're trying to create. They are of similar genre and we would expect it to do as well if it were to go in to actual further production.
I also thought that Warner Brothers would be a good company to produce and distribute our film because they are a better, well known company that are responsible for creating spectacular films that have become great blockbusters. They also make them a lot of money. The film would become a lot more 'hollywood' by saying that i mean it would have a-list actors, expensive equipment and technology, great locations and special effects. The film would have a much higher budget and would probably do a lot better in the cinemas. If we were to producing the full length version of our film then we would want Warner Brothers to distribute it. Also if we were to use Warner Brothers then out film needs to be of a higher standard. The planning would be much more elaborate and the technology and equipment would be a lot better, it would also cost a lot more. We would have to produce a blockbuster film for it to be distributed as one. Having that at the start of our film will help when selling it because the audience will recognize it . Warner Bros' are known being associated with high grossing films.
Metrodome - smaller budget, they didn't use a lot of high technology. Metrodome Group plc is a London based publically traded company that owns, manages and distributes film, TV and digital content. The Company operates through two divisions: Metrodome Distribution (features and home entertainment in the UK) and Hollywood Classics. The Company’s library of right includes over 300 feature films. This would also be a great company to produce our film because they are a low budget company and could probable get some fundin from various schemes available. This company would also be good for us because as this would be a first film then it wouldn't really be noticed by mant people if it didn't sell or do well in the cinema.

EVALUATION: How has doing the preliminary affected the way we do our main task?
In our preliminary task we used camera techniques such as match on action and long shots. We thought these would work well in our film as they seemed to work well in our preliminary and gave the film a bit more of a 'professional' look as it created continuity.
We took these techniques and applied them to particular scenes such as opening a door this, overall, created a less armature look and it worked well because it fit well in our film. It fit well because we could cut it short to speed up the cuts. This added to the dramatic effect that will hopefully intrigue the audience more.
This is an over the shoulder shot from our preliminary video. We also used this type of shot in our main film because it added reality and it was appropriate for the effect we were trying to achieve.
This long shot is at the start of our preliminary and we also used a similar shot type at the start of our main film as well. It adds depth to the scene as you can see the whole of the character and some of the background.
Another shot we used in our preliminary as well as our film is the close up/match-on-action shot. We used this in our film because it created a sense of time passing and that it looked better if we did it in shorter cuts. It also created continuity to make the action run smoother.

EVALUATION: How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The main character in our film is a woman aged between her late twenties and mid-thirties. She represents a modern day woman as she goes out to work, lives on her own and goes to the gym regularly. As todays women are more independent and wanting to break out of the stereotype I think this character will be recognised by women as doing so. Women may also find resemblances between themselves and the character because of these factors, this will help when selling the film –if it was to go into further production and actually be made- because women would want to see it. Men may find this independency attractive and make them want to see the film as well.

Shot List
1. Establishing shot of the robbers running across the road from a lane. It's a tracking shot, it's tracks them until they get near the house.
2. Cuts to them running towards the door. The camera is from across the road and sees them going up to the door.
3. It is then a mid shot of the three guys as they pick the lock. The camera is at the side of the house behind the guy lock-picking so it looks more 'secretive' and discrete.
4. The camera is then positioned on the arm rest of a chair inside the house and you can only see the legs and flashes of the torch as they run in. This is so it makes the situation more tense.
5. There is another establishing shot next of Janet Monroe walking out of a gym. You can see the front of the gym and she walks out of shot.
6. As Monroe walks down the road towards her house the camera tracks her feet. This builds tension.
7. The camera is then placed just outside the house on the corner as Monroe walks across the road. It's a long shot and you can see the setting (being the houses behind).
8. An over the shoulder shot is next as Monroe walks into the shot and sees the door ajar and a flash in the window from one of the torches.
9. The camera is placed half way up the stairs pointing down at Monroe as she walks quietly in. The arial shot suggests she is being looked down on, maybe a 'weak' character. But that's what we want the audience to think.
10. Next is a two shot of the protagonist and the antagonist as Monroe walks in on the robber in the cupboard. It's a continuous shot because it can track the action. Too many cuts and it would confuse the audience. Also it would be harder to keep the continuity because each time we did it -from a different shot- it would be different. *Monroe is unconscious on the floor(with the disk)*
11. The camera is back on the stairs again as the robbers run out of the house - low arial shot.
12. The next shot is a higher arial shot that establishes the outside of the house. The camera is positioned at the top left window (the audience won't notice this) as the get-a-way car pulls up and the robbers jump in. The camera tracks the car as it pulls up, and then pulls away again.
13. The camera is a 'point of view' position now as it is placed in the car with all the antagonists in it.
14. The final shot (this could change) is a close up of a phone on the ground next to where Monroe has fallen. The close up will show that 'Agent 1' is calling. A hand takes the phone.

Costume Change - Agent M
The initial idea for Agent M's costume was to have her in work clothes. So that it made her look important, challenging the traditional stereotype.
Because we couldn't gather together the right clothes in time we had to change it. As there was a gym less than a minute away we thought it would be a better idea for her to be coming home from there. She is in full gym clothes and it looks legit. This is good for us because it is still challenging the stereo type because traditionally the woman would not be in the gym working out. She is as a modern woman.
This was discussed as a group.

Location Shoot
We have done the location shoot prior to the actual filming which will be taking part today.
We made a list of the shots in chronological order so that we could match each picture with a short description afterwards. We have also decided to use the pictures for our story board as well; it's a different way of showcasing it and will be better than any of our drawings. This will also help us when it comes to the actual filming; we will make a plan -like the previous one- so that we don’t miss out anything important that could make our film opening loose marks. We discussed a range of shots and what they mean, they are all there for a reason, whether it is to make a character look a certain way or to establish the setting.
Photos with small descriptions will be in future posts.

TO DO over the holidays...
- A Location shoot
Need to do a location shoot so that we can see what type of shots would be best and how we're going to shoot it.
-Story Board
Need to do a story board aswell, mostly for the same reasons as doing a location shoot. It will be easier if we used the still pictures from the location shoot and then anotate them.
- Shot List
A shot list needs to be done during the making of the story board. It needs to be in chronological order. This will help us when filming so that we know what we're doing.

Titles at the beginning...
The titles will scroll in (maybe being typed up as an effect) over the film as it starts. This will work better for us because it means we can get more of the film in and the titles wont take too much time out out of the actual beginning.
"Top Drawer Films presents...
A Game Face production...
Starring Stella Perryman, Adam Tippett, Liam Difford, Thomas Allward and Gavin Difford.
Directed by Thomas Allward
Filmed mainly by Stella Perryman
Edited by Liam Difford"

Naming our film.
MONROE
This is the first idea for the name of our film. Monroe is the surname of the woman in our film and is our main character. It is similar to the 'Bourne' films and the 'James Bond' films, and as these are also part of the same genre we're trying to achieve it seems to work well.
SUBJECT; MONROE
This title is similar to the first but it focuses on the character. The way it's written shows that the 'subject' could change, room for a sequal.
We have all decided that this is going to be the name of our film.
